Leading Transformation and Unity: Beyond Borders 슬로건 아래 

<2023 필리핀 국제 대학생 환경포럼>을 개최했습니다.

DAEJAYON and the KOICA NGO Climate and Environment Volunteer Group

co-hosted the "Global Environment Forum for University Students in the Philippines 2023"

under the slogan Leading Transformation and Unity: Beyond Borders.

필리핀 케손시티에서 진행된 본 포럼에는 필리핀 청년 300명이 현장에, 

대한민국 청년 500명이 온라인으로 참여하였고

케손시티 시장님과 시의원, UP 대학교 (National University of Philippines) 교수님, 

그리고 UN 관계자 등 필리핀 정계, 학계, 국제기구 전문가분들이 함께해 주셨습니다.

The forum saw the participation of 300 Filipino youth on-site and 500 Korean youth online.

Guests from diverse sectors in the Philippines joined, including the Mayor of Quezon City,

city council members, professors, and UN representatives.

행사전에는 한복체험, 환경퀴즈, 한국어 캘리그라피 등 

다양한 부대행사가 진행되었습니다.

Prior to the event, various side activities, including Hanbok experience,

environmental quizzes, and Korean calligraphy, were conducted.

대자연 필리핀 환경 활동가들의 '사막의 신기루', '아름다운 나라' 

오케스트라 연주와 4중창 공연으로 포럼의 문을 열었습니다.

We opened the forum with the performance of "Like a Mirage" and "Beautiful Country"

by DAEJAYON's environmental activists in the Philippines.

대자연 김재균 부회장님의 개회사를 시작으로

Followed by was a speech from DAEJAYON’s Vice President, Kim Jae-kyun.

필리핀 케손시티 시의회 의원 Vito Sotto Generoso, UNOPS 필리핀 대표 Oscar Marenco, 

필리핀 케손시티 상원 의원 Sherwin Ting Gatchalian, 필리핀 케손시티 상원 의원 Loren Legarda께서 

본 포럼을 개최를 축하하는 축사를 진행해 주셨습니다.

Congratulatory messages were delivered by Quezon City Councilor Vito Sotto Generoso,

UNOPS Philippines Representative Oscar Marenco,

Quezon City Councilor Sherwin Ting Gatchalian, and Quezon City Councilor Loren Legarda.

이어 케손시티 시장 Joy Belmonte께서 기조연설을 진행해 주셨습니다.

The Quezon City Mayor, Joy Belmonte, delivered a keynote speech.

이번 포럼에서는 국제 환경단체 대자연과 필리핀 케손시티 시청이 

MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) 체결을 진행하여

글로벌 환경 리더 양성을 위한 협력을 약속했습니다.

In this forum, DAEJAYON and the Local Government of Quezon City

signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)

to collaborate on fostering global environmental leaders.

이어지는 2부에서는 유엔개발계획 (United Nations Development Programme) 

팀 리더 Floradema Eleazar께서 "Envisioning a Greener and Resilient Future: 

The Crucial Role of Youth and Innovation in Advancing Climate Solutions" 

주제로 강의를 진행해 주셨고

At session 2, Floradema Eleazar, Team Leader of the United Nations Development Programme,

gave a lecture on "Envisioning a Greener and Resilient Future:

The Crucial Role of Youth and Innovation in Advancing Climate Solutions."

이어 필리핀 UP 대학교 (National University of the Philippines) 학장 Rico C. Ancong께서 

"Strengthening Global Solidarity to Respond to Climate Crisis" 주제로 강의를 진행해 주셨습니다.

Subsequently, Rico C. Ancong, Dean of National University of the Philippines,

delivered a lecture on "Strengthening Global Solidarity to Respond to the Climate Crisis."

이어서 청년 발표가 이어졌는데요. 

Waves For Waters 필리핀 대표 Jenica Dizon 님과

대한민국 국민대학교 티트리 환경 동아리 회장 정우진 님께서 활동 사례를 공유해 주었습니다.

The youth presentations followed,

Jenica Dizon, representative of Waves For Waters in the Philippines,

and Jung Woo-jin, president of the Tea Tree Environmental Club at Kookmin University,

sharing their activities.

마지막 순서로 필리핀 환경 NGO PCEPSDI 대표 June M. Alvarez께서 좌장을 맡은 패널토론이 

"기후위기 대응을 위한 국제기구, 정부, 시민사회의 연대"라는 주제로 진행했습니다.

Lastly, the panel discussion,

chaired by June M. Alvarez, representative of the Philippine environmental NGO PCEPSDI,

revolved under the theme

"International Cooperation of Governments, and Civil Society for Climate Crisis Response."

기후위기는 이미 우리의 삶에 깊숙이 관여한 시대적 과제입니다. 

이를 극복하기 위해서는 변화와 혁신이 반드시 필요합니다. 

그리고 이 시대 그 변화와 혁신을 이끌 리더가 등장해야 합니다.

이번 포럼에 참여한 모든 청년들이 국경 너머의 세상을 바라보고 

인류 전체의 이익을 위한 이타적 선택을 하며 

세계를 하나로 묶을 수 있는 기후 환경 리더로 성장하길 바랍니다.

The climate crisis is a profound challenge deeply embedded in our lives.

Overcoming it requires necessary changes and innovations,

and leaders capable of guiding such transformations must emerge.

We hope all the youth who participated in this forum

will grow into climate and environmental leaders

who can unite the world and make altruistic choices

for the benefit of humanity beyond national borders.
