DAEJAYON, in collaboration with the 35th Student Council 'Yeojunghada,'
organized a Minimal Waste Festival using multi-use containers
at the Sungshin Women's University Autumn Festival.
The festival took place over two days from October 4th to 5th,
with many students visiting the DAEJAYON campaign booth.
We started by explaining the issues with disposable plastic containers
and the importance of actively participating in eco-friendly festivals
that use reusable containers through a panel discussion.
Additionally, we conducted an upcycling experience activity
where students could discover greater value in items easily discarded in daily life.
Aren’t the colorful keychains made of socks remnants
lovely as the students' smiles?! 🌸🌼
The highlight of the festival was the
food!
All the food trucks at the Sungshin
Women's University used multi-use containers.
From fried chicken and Takoyaki to sweet and sour pork and churros,
a variety of delicious foods were served in reusable containers,
making it a Minimal Waste Festival enjoying with the Earth! 😊
Students enjoyed their meals in the dining area
and responsibly returned the used multi-use containers.
Results of the Sungshin Women's University Minimal Waste Autumn Festival
Decrease in the number of disposable
containers: 7,000
Reduction in greenhouse gas emissions:
1,716 kgCO2eq
Decrease in waste: 364kg
Reduction in fine dust: 12kg
We appreciate your continued interest and support
for future Minimal Waste Festivals, enjoy with the Earth!
